Italian industrial production down 0.6 percent in June from May

According to the figures posted by ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office, in June this year Italian industrial production fell by 0.6 percent month on month and rose 0.2 percent year on year.

In the period in question, capital goods production was up 2.3 percent year on year, intermediate goods rose 0.9 percent year on year, while consumer goods and energy dropped by 2.1 percent and 1.5 percent respectively.

In H1 2011, the Italian industrial production index rose by two percent year on year, although in Q2 the industrial production index grew by 1.5 percent compared to Q1.
