The China Metallurgical Geology Bureau (CMGB) said that the exploration work in the eastern Hebei region revealed that the area have the potential iron ore reserves of 10 billion mt.

As more than 50 percent of China's iron ore usage relies on imports, the iron ore exploration in the eastern Hebei region is of great importance in alleviating the tight supply of iron ore and facilitating sustainable and healthy development of China's steel industry.
