Iron ore production of China
China produced 35.13 million tons of
iron ore in June 2005, up 34 percent year on year. Total
iron ore production for the country in the first six months reached 173.85 million tons, a 26.5 percent year on year increase.
China's Hebei province led the way, accounting for 35.2 percent (12.37 million tons) of
iron ore production in June and 33 percent (57.29 million tons) in the first half. Hebei's
iron ore production recorded 47.2 percent year on year growth through the first six months. Liaoning placed second with 6.44 million tons of
production in June and 36.56 million tons through the first half. Inner
Mongolia followed with 3.11 million tons in June and 12.6 million tons in the first half.
