The Ukrainian pipe and railway wheel producer Interpipe Corporation (Interpipe) has announced that it has supplied steel pipes for the installation of a fire-fighting system in the Dubai metro.

Under the terms of the contract, Interpipe supplied 1,000 mt of steel pipes of 33-168 mm diameter, which were used for the construction of pipelines forming part of the metro's automatic fire-fighting system.

"The supply for the Dubai metro is not Interpipe's first experience in cooperation with Middle East construction companies. In 2009, we supplied pipes for such projects as Al Abdali in Amman, for the construction of a new terminal in Abu Dhabi airport and of the new motor-racing Yas Marina Circuit, as well as for the construction of the Marriott hotel in Dubai, etc.," said Vera Smal, head of tubular sales division for pipes for industrial application at Interpipe.
