Inner Mongolia to eliminate 550,000 mt of steel capacity in 2017

China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has announced that it plans to eliminate 1.2 million mt of coal production capacity and 550,000 mt of steel output capacity in 2017.

In 2016, Inner Mongolia achieved its capacity reduction targets, eliminating 3.3 million mt of coal output capacity and 2.9125 million mt of steelmaking capacity.
