India’s SSWL continues to increase steel wheel rim exports in May

Steel Strip Wheels (SSWL), Indian steel wheel producer for the auto sector, achieved sales of 729,000 wheel rims during the month of May this year, as against 517,000 in the same month of 2009, recording a growth of 41 percent.

According to a company statement, SSWL also achieved export sales of 76,724 wheel rims during the month, as against 20,654 rims in May 2009, increasing by 271 percent. In addition, SSWL produced 731,000 wheel rims in May this year, compared to 506,000 rims in the corresponding month of 2009, up 44.4 percent.

The company also said that it expects to register sales of 150,000 wheels to Renault Brazil against an earlier projection of 105,000 for the quarter ending June 10.
