Indian steel consumption to see strong growth in 2011 and 2012

India is expected to show strong growth in steel consumption in the coming years due to its strong domestic economy, massive infrastructure needs and expansion of industrial production, according to the short-range outlook released by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
 
In 2011, India's apparent steel use is forecast to grow by 13.3 percent year on year to reach 68.7 million mt, while in 2012 the growth rate is forecast to accelerate further to 14.3 percent.
