China produced 259'000 tons of hot rolled sheet in June 2005, up 28.7 percent year on year. The country's total hot rolled sheet production of for the first six months of the year reached 1.66 million tons, a 34.7 percent year on year increase. Guangdong province was the locomotive for the country's hot rolled sheet production, accounting for 46 percent of the overall production in June (119'000 tons) and 55 percent of overall production in the first half (904'500 tons). Tianjin province followed with 34'500 tons in June and 197'000 for the first six months. Next was Hebei with 31'800 tons in June and 100'600 tons for the first half.
