In July this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry rose by 1.9 percent compared to the previous month, following a month-on-month decrease of 1.5 percent in June, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
In July, the greatest month-on-month turnover increase in German manufacturing sectors was for manufacturers of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts with 5.8 percent. The turnover increased both in domestic sales (4.8 percent) and in foreign sales (6.3 percent).
In July, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing increased three percent as compared to June, with domestic sales increasing by 3.1 percent, while foreign sales were up by three percent, month on month. Meanwhile, a 2.7 percent month-on-month increase was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with domestic sales increasing 2.4 percent and foreign sales up by 3.2 percent, both compared to the previous month.
