The major boiler and pressure vessel steel producers in
China are Jinan Steel, Anshan New Steel, Chongqing Steel Xinyu,
Baosteel Group Pudong Steel, Wuyang Steel, and Wuhan Steel. The
production of the top ten mills in this field accounts for more than 85 percent of the total sector
production. In 2005, the total
production of boiler and pressure vessel steel reached 1.3928 million mt.
Jinan Steel is the producer with the largest
production output in the sector in
China. Its boiler
plate production in 2005 totaled 276,600 mt, covering a 19.86 percent market share which represented the No.1 position in the field. The size range of its boiler and pressure vessel steel
plate is 6-80 mm x 1,500-3,250 mm. This can be widely applied in a range of high-standard fields, e.g. in power stations. At present, the major varieties that Jinan Steel produces include 20g, 20R, 16MnR, 16Mng, 16MnDR, 12Cr1MoVg, 15CrMoR, 12Cr1MoV, 15CrMo, 15CrMog, 15MnNbR, ASTM A285, and ASTM A516. In addition, this mill is also able to produce boiler steel
plate according to American, German, and Japanese standards.
The
production of Chongqing Steel amounted to 117,100 mt in 2005. It is famous for its product quality, which enjoys a well-known reputation in
China.
As one of the major heavy
plate producers in
China, Wuyang Steel produced 150,000 mt of boiler steel
plate in 2005.
