France's steel product export value up 3.2% in 2014

According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in 2014 France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of €9.44 billion, increasing by 3.2 percent year on year.

During the period in question, France exported €1.93 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 4.5 percent, €489.5 million of cold rolled steel strip - up one percent, €371.77 million of cold drawn wire - up 0.7 percent, €327.75 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 1.88 percent, and €700.45 million of metal structures and parts - up 17.8 percent, all compared to 2013.

Meanwhile, in 2014 France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports totaled €8 billion, down 3.95 percent year on year.

During the given period, France imported €1.53 billion of steel pipes and tubes - down 5.5 percent, €585.3 million of cold rolled steel strip - up 0.95 percent, €373.3 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 0.6 percent, €335.6 million of cold drawn wire - down 3.4 percent, and €1.41 billion of metal structures and parts - up 6.3 percent, all compared to the previous year.
