EUROMETAL: EU steel distributors’ sales down in Oct from Sept

According to a press release by the European association of metals distributors and service centers EUROMETAL, after a strong seasonal recovery in September EU steel distribution sales stalled during October this year.

For general steel stockholding distribution in the EU, sales in October decreased by seven percent, whereas flat steel service centers' sales went down by just three percent, both compared to September levels.

Due to lower sales during October this year, general steel stockholding distribution stocks in the EU reached 68 days of sales, compared with 63 days in September but unchanged when compared to October 2010.

For flat steel service centers in the EU, stocks leveled at 70 days in October this year, compared with 69 days one month before and 60 days one year before.
