EU-27 monthly industrial output up by 0.2 percent in April over March

Seasonally-adjusted industrial production in the European Union member states (EU-27) in April this year grew by 0.2 percent as compared to the previous month, according to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In March, a 0.2 percent month-on-month decrease was recorded in industrial production in the EU-27.
 
On the other hand, compared with April 2010, industrial production in the EU-27 in April this year improved by 9.5 percent.
 
Among the member states for which data are available, in April industrial production rose in eleven member states and fell in twelve other member states, as compared to March. The highest month-on-month increases were registered in Latvia with 3.4 percent, in Denmark with 2.8 percent and in Malta with 2.2 percent; meanwhile, the most significant declines were observed in Portugal with 3.6 percent, in Greece with 3.5 percent and in Slovenia with 3.1 percent.
