CSC’s steel sales down 11.5 percent in June from May

Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (CSC) has announced that in June this year its carbon steel sales volume decreased by 11.5 percent to 845,601 metric tons compared to May, accounting for 75 percent of domestic sales. During the first half of the current year, the company's carbon steel sales volume amounted to 5.37 million mt, up 18.6 percent year on year, accounting for 68 percent of domestic sales.

 In June, CSC's operating revenues amounted to NTD 26.81 billion ($883.97 million), declining by 11 percent month on month. In the given month, the company’s operating income totaled NTD 1.45 billion ($47.84 million), compared to an income before tax of NTD 1.77 billion in the previous month.
