Color coated coil prices keep increasing

SteelOrbis Shanghai Last week, the market prices of color coated coils kept increasing with small ranges. The trading volume increased continuously and color coated coil market inventories dropped further. Some steel mills adjusted their color coated coil ex-factory prices. On May 25, the average market price of 0.476 mm color coated coils was RMB 6,627/mt ($826), up RMB 60/mt ($7) week on week; that of 0.4 mm color coated coil was RMB 6,917/mt ($862), up RMB 107/mt ($13) week on week, while that of 0.286 mm Yieh Phui imported color coated coils was RMB 7,975/mt ($994), up RMB 25/mt ($3). From the whole market price trend, the market prices of color coated coils increased continuously. Its main reason was the big increase of galvanized coils price recently push the market price of color coated coils increasing step by step. Meanwhile, the market demand increasing and Baosteel ex-factory price hike also gave an enormous impetus to the market price boost of color coated coils. This week, some steel mills adjusted their price. The ex-factory price of Baosteel color coated coils increased RMB 400 per ton ($50); that of Jiangyin Unionsteel color coated coils increased RMB 400-500 per ton ($50-62).
