In January this year, the railway line in China from Datong, Shanxi Province to Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province transported 38.186 million mt of coal, down 0.84 percent month on month and decreasing by 3.9 percent year on year, marking a year-on-year decrease for the fifth consecutive month, while the railway line from Houma, Shanxi to Yueshan, Henan transported 7.929 million mt of coal, up 3.5 percent year on year, as announced by Daqin Railway Co.

Market insiders indicate that the Datong-Qinghuangdao railway line will not see a significant increase in its shipment volumes in 2015 due to the slowdown of the domestic economy and slack demand for coal.
