China’s steel output accelerates in June

China's National Statistics Bureau disclosed that the country's crude steel production rose 33 percent year on year to 28.5474 million tons in June. For the first half of the year, crude steel production reached 164.86 million tons, up 28.3 percent from a year earlier. Meanwhile, China's pig iron production amounted to 27.2 million tons last month, an increase of 40.7 percent a year ago. Pig iron production in the first six months of the year rose 33.1 percent year on year to 154.99 million tons. China's finished steel production rose 29.5 percent year on year to 30.36 million tons in June. Year-to-date production reached 173.11 million tons in the first six months, up 25.9 percent from a year earlier.
