China’s steel exports through January-July 2005

China's exports went up through the first 7 months According to the latest statistics, China exported 1.53 million tons of steel products ($1.59 billion trade value) in July 2005. With July's figures, the total steel product exports of China reached 13.11 million tons in the first seven months, a year-on-year increase of more than 120 percent. Meanwhile, the value of exports increased nearly 150 percent to $8.37 billion. Among the July exports, bars and rods accounted for 429'000 tons with $205 million trade value. Total export of bars and rods for the first seven months increased more than 90 percent year on year to 3.76 million tons. The exports of angles and shapes reached 75'968 tons in July with $29.69 million trade value. Their total exports in the first seven months increased slightly more than 125 percent to 470'215 tons. Trade value of the exports experienced a similar percentage increase to reach $241.7 million. Meanwhile, flat products accounted for 577'246 tons of exports in July with a trade value of $390.87 million. Total flat product exports in the first seven months reached 5.88 million tons up nearly 195 percent year on year. The trade value of the flat exports rose more than 240 percent to hit$3.73 billion.
