China’s steel bar exports down 19.7 percent in January-November

In November this year, China’s export volumes of steel bars amounted to 0.77 million mt, down 27.5 percent year on year, respectively, while export volumes of angles/channels, steel plate and wire rod amounted to 290,000 mt, 3.16 million mt and 170,000 mt, increasing by 22.6 percent, 2.4 percent and 13.3 percent year on year, respectively, according to the Chinese customs authorities.

In the January-November period of the current year, China's export volume of steel bars and steel plate amounted to 12.06 million mt and 36.88 million mt, down 19.7 percent and 7.9 percent year on year, while export volumes of angles/channels and wire rod totaled 3.23 million mt and 1.90 million mt, up 2.1 percent and 1.2 percent year on year, respectively. 

In November, China exported 5.3 million mt of finished steel, down 1.0 percent year on year, while the country’s finished steel exports in the January-November period of the current year totaled 63.77 million mt, down 8.6 percent year on year, as previously announced by the Chinese customs authorities.
