China’s semi-finished imports up 388.1 percent in January-May

In the January-May period this year, China imported 580,000 mt of semi-finished steel, surging by 388.1 percent year on year, according to the monthly import and export data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

Meanwhile, in May alone, China imported 110,000 mt of semi-finished steel, up 272.9 percent year on year.
