China’s retail sales up 13.6%

Retail sales of consumer goods in China rose 13.6% year-on-year to more than Yuan 1.03 trillion ($124 billion) during the first two months of 2005, according to a report released by China's National Bureau of Statistics. Retail sales of Consumer goods in urban areas grew 14.4% month-on-month to Yuan 861.9 billion in February, while those in rural areas rose 11.9% to Yuan 342.7 billion.
