In April this year, the average prices of new residential housing in 100 major cities in China decreased by 0.15 percent month on month to RMB 10,522 ($1,694.5) per square meter, as announced by the China Index Academy, a Beijing-based real estate research institute. The month-on-month decrease in average prices recorded in March this year was 0.15 percent. Of the 100 cities surveyed in April, 39 cities saw increases in residential housing prices, while 60 cities witnessed declines in prices, with prices in one city remaining stable, all on month-on-month basis.
On year-on-year basis, in April this year average new residential housing prices in the 100 major cities in China declined by 4.46 percent, with the decrease margin 0.11 percentage points larger than in March.
Furthermore, the average residential housing price in the 10 biggest cities in China in April this year was RMB 18,961 ($3,058.2) per square meter, up 0.12 percent month on month and decreasing by 3.46 percent year on year.
