According to the latest figures, China generated 286.729 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in March, down 0.71 percent year on year. Meanwhile, during the month in question, hydroelectric power generation rose 27.25 percent year on year to 34.549 billion kilowatt-hours; coal-fired power generation reached 247.03 billion kilowatt-hours, down 3.41 percent year on year; finally, nuclear generation was down 12.69 percent to 5.15 billion kilowatt-hours.
Experts have pointed to the narrow margin of the decrease in China's power generation in March as a positive sign for the country's economy.
