China’s NDRC approves mining project belonging to Hebei Steel Group

On September 28, China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced that it has approved an iron ore mining project belonging to Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group.

The project in question, which is located at Shirengou, in Zunyi City, Fengning County, Hebei Province, has iron ore reserves of over 88.5 million mt, with an anticipated annual iron ore output of up to 2 million mt. It is expected that the project will produce around 683,200 mt annually of iron ore concentrate (68 percent) over a period of about 26 years.
