China’s coke and ferroalloy outputs increase in September

Tuesday, 27 October 2009 11:20:07 (GMT+3)   |

According to the latest figures released, in September China's coke and ferroalloy outputs increased compared to the same month last year, in line with the country's increasing steel production. China's apparently crisis-immune steel output also allowed the country's year-to-date coke and ferroalloy outputs to rise compared to the same period of 2008, despite the government's policy of elimination of out-dated capacities.

China's coke output for September totaled 31.51 million mt, up 6.24 million mt or 24.7 percent year on year. Meanwhile, national coke output for the January-September period reached 253.69 million mt, up 3.49 million mt or 1.4 percent year on year.

China's ferroalloy output totaled 2.08 million mt in September, up 465,800 mt or 28.8 percent year on year. For the January-September period, on the other hand, national ferroalloy production reached 15.2 million mt, up 642,100 mt or 4.4 percent year on year.
