China’s apparent coal usage down 1.9 percent in January-October

According to a new report issued by the China Coal Transport and Distribution Association (CCTDA), in the January-October period this year China’s apparent consumption of coal totaled 3.13 billion mt, decreasing by 1.9 percent year on year. In particular, in the given period consumption of coal in China’s power industry, steel industry and chemical industry amounted to 1.51 billion mt, 520 million mt and 230 million mt, down 0.8 percent, decreasing by one percent and rising by 7.5 percent year on year, respectively.
 
In the January-October period of the current year, China’s coal imports and exports amounted to 201.74 million mt and 7.20 million mt.
