China sees CPI forecast increased
China's government research institute announced that it raised its 2005 consumer price index (CPI) year-on-year forecast to 2.3 percent from 2.2 percent.
The report released by the Macroeconomic Research Institute under the National Development and Reform Commission indicates that the producer price index (PPI) is expected to increase 5 percent in 2005. PPI had increased 6.5 percent in 2004.
The institute also expects PPI to fall sharply in 2006.
