China restricts imports of 23 Korean items

Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced that 26 export items of South Korea have been subject to import restrictions or antidumping investigations by China since 1997. According to the association, currently 17 Korean items are subject to China's import restrictions, while another six are subject to antidumping or countervailing duty investigations. The remaining 3 have been freed from restrictions so far. China received more imports from South Korea than any other country in 2004. The imports from South Korea increased 41.7% year on year to $49.8 billion in 2004. China imposes antidumping measures on petrochemical and steel items imported from South Korea mostly.
