China expects 8.2% growth for Q4

Based on the report issued by the China's Macroeconomic Research Institute under the National Development and Reform Commission, China's economic growth is expected to slow to 8.6 percent in the third quarter and to 8.2 percent in the fourth quarter. These growth rates will likely to take the full-year growth rate to 8.8 percent, which is significantly lower than the 9.5 percent recorded last year and in 2003. The slower pace of growth will be in accordance with government's efforts to adjust macroeconomic controls and would not mean that China will enter a cycle of low economic growth in the coming years.
