SteelOrbis Shanghai Following the pricing reform on natural gas and coal gas, the much-anticipated pricing reform of petroleum, electricity, water and land will also be implemented. The National Development and Reform Commission disclosed today, on March 14, that China would accelerate the pricing reform of energy and resources this year, and importance would be attached to prices for petroleum, electricity, water and land. So far, most commodities in China are priced according to the market demand. But following the reform, the prices of above-mentioned resource products will be decided by the government. China's per capita resource is limited; therefore, the pricing reform of resource products will be beneficial in terms of supporting the restructuring in the market and saving energy. Meanwhile, China's consumer price index (CPI) growth is in a downward trend. In February, the consumer prices increased only 0.9 percent year on year.
