On February 27, Shandong Province-based No.1
Steelmaking and V-Extracting Plant, subsidiary of Chengde Iron and Steel Company (Chengde Steel) which in turn is part of Hebei Iron and Steel Group, successfully completed its hot trial test on its upgraded converter No. 1.
Work on the upgrading project for the converter No. 1 lasted about 10 months. After the upgrading, the new processing method at the converter incorporates top, bottom and side blowing vanadium-extracting technology.
