Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderurgica do Atlantico (CSA) has been renamed Ternium Brasil following the completion of the acquisition of CSA by Ternium.

Additionally, as anticipated by SteelOrbis in May this year, a former executive at Brazilian flats steelmaker Usiminas has assumed the CEO seat at Ternium Brasil.

Marcelo Chara, a former executive at Usiminas, has been appointed as Ternium Brasil’s new CEO, according to a company statement.

Chara was ousted from Usiminas in 2014 over accusations he illegally received a bonus. At the time, he was Usiminas’ industrial vice president.

More recently, Chara was an industrial director at Ternium’s Siderar in Argentina.
