Belarus-based Byelorussian Steel Works (BMZ) has stated that within the scope of its modernization program it has put two important facilities into operation: its new lime kiln plant-3 (LKP-3) and its upgraded continuous billet casting machine-2 (CCM-2). The overall  cost of the two projects amounted to €53 million.

The main aim of the modernization of CCM-2 is the increase of output of billet to up to 1.2 million mt per year. The lime kiln plant-3 (LKP-3) will provide steelmaking production with raw materials and will also eliminate lime shortages.
