Atlas Iron ships over one million wmt of iron ore in 2009

Australian iron ore miner Atlas Iron Limited announced on January 29 that in 2009 it shipped 1.02 million wet metric tons (wmt) of iron ore.

Meanwhile, in the last quarter of 2009, the company mined 195,930 wmt of iron ore, declining by 49 percent, and processed 326,422 wmt, up 11 percent, both compared to the previous quarter. In the period in question, Atlas Iron's iron ore shipments increased by 4.77 percent quarter on quarter, reaching 331,530 wmt.

As of January 29, the company's year-to-date iron ore shipments totaled 167,423 wmt.
