Luxembourg-based steel giant Arcelor announced today that it had begun legal action in the US against Mittal Steel, the world's largest steel producer, alleging patent infringement on its Usibor technology used in high-strength steel for auto-body panels. "The suit was filed Tuesday in the United States," Arcelor spokesman Luc Sheer said today. Mr Sheer also stated that the legal action started to defend the company's patent rights is not related to the Mittal bid situation.
