Arcelor inaugurates sections mill in Luxembourg

The world's second largest steel producer Arcelor announced yesterday that it inaugurated on Tuesday (Sept 27) a new sections mill called the Belval Medium Sections Mill at Arcelor's Esch-Belval site in Luxembourg. The new mill, which was designed to have an annual production capacity of 800'000 tons, is capable of producing light and medium size sections, U channels and angle sections. The new sections mill, which required an investment of €170 million, guarantees lower Co2 emission. Regarding the mill Arcelor CEO Guy Dolle said ”the mill will permanently improve the productivity of our European facilities”.
