Upswing in Japanese auto output after 13-month downtrend

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in September this year Japanese automobile production totaled 873,623 units, increasing by 110,723 units or 13 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, constituting the first increase after thirteen months of decrease on year-on-year basis.
 
Domestic automobile sales in September this year in Japan stood at 522,760 vehicles, up 17 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year.
 
In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in September amounted to 424,194 units, up by 39,436 units or 10.2 percent compared to September 2012.
