Japanese auto output up 6.1 percent in May

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in May this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 774,039 units, increasing by 44,347 units or 6.1 percent compared to the same month of 2013, constituting the ninth consecutive increase on year-on-year basis.
 
Domestic automobile sales in May of the current year in Japan stood at 363,370 vehicles, down 1.2 percent as compared with the same month of 2013. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in May amounted to 321,711 units, down by 34,321 units or 9.6 percent year on year.
