Italian metal output sales prices almost stable in August from July

According to Istat, Italy's national statistics office, in August this year industrial production sales prices in Italy increased by 0.7 percent compared to July and by 2.7 percent year on year.
 
In August, the prices of industrial products sold in the local market were up 0.8 percent month on month and three percent year on year, while the price index of products sold in foreign markets increased 0.2 percent compared to July (+0.1 in the euro area and +0.4 outside the euro area) and rose by 1.4 percent year on year (+0.9 percent in the euro area and +1.8 percent outside the euro area).
 
In the first eight months of the year, all prices indexes rose on year-on-year basis for domestic sales (+2.6 percent), euro area sales (+1.2 percent) and also non-euro area sales (+2.2 percent).
 
In the field of Italian metals and metal product production (excluding plants and machines), in August Istat posted month-on-month stability for almost all sales price indices (0.0 percent in the domestic market, -0.1 in the euro zone and 0.0 percent outside the euro area), and decreases year-on-year (respectively down 2.3 percent, 4.4 percent and 2.5 percent).
