Italian metal output sales prices soften in June

According to Istat, Italy's national statistics office, in June this year industrial production sales prices in Italy decreased by 0.1 percent compared to May, while they rose by 2.1 percent year on year.

In June, the prices of industrial products sold in the local market were down 0.1 percent month on month and up 2.2 percent year on year, while the price index of products sold in foreign markets dipped 0.1 compared to May (-0.3 percent in the euro area and stable outside the euro area) and increased by 1.2 percent year on year (+0.5 percent in the euro area and +1.5 percent outside the euro area).

In the first six months of the year, all indexes rose on year-on-year basis both for domestic sales (+2.7 percent) and euro area sales (+1.3 percent) and also for sales outside the euro area (+2.5 percent).

In the field of metals and metal product production (excluding plant equipment and machines), sales price indices were down 0.3 percent in the domestic market, stable in the euro area and down 0.4 percent outside the euro area, while respective year-on-year decreases of 2.3 percent, 5.2 percent and 4.4 percent were registered.
