According to Italy’s national statistics office (Istat), in September this year the seasonally adjusted confidence index for the domestic construction sector increased from 82.4 in August to 86.5, up 4.97 percent month on month. Assessments on order backlog and/or construction plans decreased slightly, while employement expectation grew strongly.
The index soared in the field of building construction, up 9.31 percent, but also in civil engineering, up 8.54 percent, and in specialized construction works, up 4.14 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
