According to Italy's national statistics office (Istat), in July this year the seasonally adjusted confidence index in the Italian construction section decreased from 85.6 in June to 84, down 1.86 percent. Assessments on order backlogs and/or construction plans stood still, while employment expectations dipped.
In particular, in July the confidence index decreased in the field of specialized construction works, down 2.12 percent, while it increased in civil engineering, rising by 2.41 percent, and fell slightly in building construction, declining by 0.87 percent, all as compared to the month of June.
