Italy’s construction output down 13.6 percent in May

According to ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office, in May this year Italy's seasonally adjusted construction output index decreased by 0.5 month on month. The average index for the March-May quarter decreased by three percent compared to the previous three-month period.

In May this year, the calendar adjusted index of production in Italian construction declined by 13.6 percent compared with May 2011, while in the first five months of the year the index decreased by 14 percent compared with the same period 2011.
