Brazil's motor vehicle output in May this year increased by 7.6 percent from the previous month to 280,800 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Brazil's motor vehicle output decreased 9.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 1.28 million units.
According to the report, total new motor vehicle registrations in
Brazil amounted to 287,456 units in May this year, increasing 11.5 percent over April this year and down 9.8 percent year on year. 22.2 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.
Meanwhile,
Brazil's motor vehicle exports in May this year totaled 26,700 units, falling by 45.2 percent compared to the previous month and down 40.2 percent year on year. In the first five months o f the year the country's motor vehicle exports decreased 12.3 percent to 213,385 units, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Meanwhile, in May the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports came to $1.34 billion, decreasing by 4.4 percent month on month and down 4.8 percent compared to the same month of 2011.
