Brazil's motor vehicle output in July this year increased by 17 percent from the previous month, but fell by 20.5 percent year on year to 252,635 units (excluding agricultural vehicles), according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, the country's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 17.4 percent year on year to 1,818,684 units.
New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 294,768 units in July this year, up 11.8 percent compared to June, but decreasing by 13.9 percent year on year. 17.9 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles. In the first seven months of the current year, the country's new motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 8.6 percent year on year to 1,957,688 units.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in July this year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 34,233 units, increasing by 40.2 percent compared to the previous month, but down 36.7 percent year on year. In the January-July period this year, Brazil's motor vehicle exports totaled 204,411 units, down 35.4 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in July the revenue generated by Brazilian motor vehicle exports (including agricultural vehicles) increased by 19.7 percent month on month to $1.02 billion, declining by 32.2 percent year on year. In the first seven months of the current year, in Brazil the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports (including agricultural vehicles) decreased by 24.5 percent year on year to $7.03 billion.
