Brazil's motor vehicle output in April this year increased by 6.8 percent from the previous month to 340,900 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). The country's motor vehicle output increased by 30.7 percent in April over the same month last year. In addition, in the first four months of this year Brazil's motor vehicle output increased 17 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 1.2 million units.
According to the report, total new motor vehicle registrations in Brazil amounted to 333,738 units in April this year, increasing 29.4 percent year on year. 20.2 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in April this year totaled 55,084 units, rising by 26.5 percent compared to the previous month and up 13.1 percent year on year. In the first four months of the year, the country's motor vehicle exports increased 3.8 percent to 166,588 units, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, in April the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports rose by 15.8 percent year on year to $1.5 billion, increasing by 11.2 percent month on month. In January-April, Brazilian motor vehicle exports totaled $5 billion in value, rising by 2.8 percent compared to the first four months of the previous year.
