Brazil's motor vehicle output in June this year decreased by 2.6 percent from the previous month to 273,600 units, according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). The country's motor vehicle output was down by 7.6 percent in June from the same month last year. However, in the first half of this year Brazil's motor vehicle output decreased 9.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, amounting to 1.55 million units.
According to the report, total new motor vehicle registrations in Brazil amounted to 1.7 million units in the first half of this year, decreasing 1.2 percent year on year. 22.9 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in June this year totaled 26,000 units, rising by 34.8 percent compared to the previous month and down 3.3 percent year on year. In the first half of the year, the country's motor vehicle exports decreased 12.2 percent to 223,154 units, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, in June the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports came to $1.34 billion, increasing by 3.6 percent month on month and up two percent compared to the same month of 2011. In January-June, Brazilian motor vehicle exports value reached $7.9 billion, rising by 4.5 percent compared to the first half of the previous year.
