Turkish metal manufacturing capacity usage declines in Feb

According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in February this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 73.8 percent, falling 3.6 percentage points compared to the previous month, marking the fourth consecutive month of decline on month-on-month basis, and was down 2.9 percentage points compared to February 2012.
 
Meanwhile, in February of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 1.7 percentage points year on year to 70.3 percent, down slightly from 70.9 percent recorded in January.
 
The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 72.2 percent in February this year, indicating a decrease of 0.4 percentage points compared to January and down from 72.9 percent in February 2012.
