According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkey's season and calendar adjusted monthly industrial production index with the base year 2010=100 decreased by 0.6 percent compared to the previous month, while the calendar adjusted index was up one percent year on year.
In May, the calender adjusted production index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey rose 1.8 percent year on year and the season and calendar adjusted index was down 2.5 percent from the previous month, May being the third consecutive month of month-on-month decrease. Meanwhile, the output index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products in May rose by 4.1 percent year on year and was up by 0.7 percent compared to the previous month, following the seven percent month-on-month increase recorded in April.
