Turkey’s basic metal manufacturing output up 4.4% in April

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's calendar adjusted monthly industrial production index with the base year 2010=100 increased by 1.3 percent compared to the previous month, while the index was up 3.4 percent year on year. The largest month-on-month increase in April was in the production index of intermediate goods, with a rise of two percent.

In April, the production index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey rose 4.4 percent year on year and was down 2.3 percent from the previous month, following the 0.5 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in March. Meanwhile, the output index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products in March rose by 10.2 percent year on year and was up by 7.2 percent compared to the previous month, following the six percent month-on-month decrease recorded in March.
